DIGMEX
DIGMEX is a transdisciplinary and cross-sectorial network for a philosophical, empirical and practical discussion about our digital existence. The network seminars constitute a meeting place across academic disciplines. The outreach platform of the network and the BioMe project: The Human Observatory (in partnership with the Sigtuna Foundation) is a meeting point for exchanges between the academic world and representatives from other parts of society such as administrative authorities, larger organizations, the business world, the musem world, NGOs, civil society actors, and public intellectuals in the field of existential health and technological development: https://www.im.uu.se/research/hub-for-digtal-existence/outreach-and-collaborative-research/
Several academic conferences within the network have been held at The Sigtuna Foundation: ”Digital Existence: Memory, Meaning, Vulnerability” in October 2015: and ”Digital Existence II: Precarious Media Life” in October 2017. These were followed by a popular scientific symposium in February 2018 on the topic “Existential Health and Suffering in the Digital Age”. From 2020 the DIGMEX conferences will be part of a series of symposia entitled “New Directions in Existential Media Studies”. The first of these: “Digital Existence III: Living with Automation” is now planned for October 26-28, 2020. More information will follow.
